Discount archetypes: the templates behind automatic discounts
Some discounts are created by the site, not by you: the referral code every customer gets, the reward a referrer earns, and the discount that makes a plan order complimentary. An archetype is the template each of those is made from.
Where it is
Under Discounts & Credits, open Discounts and click Manage Discount Archetypes.
What you can set
For each archetype: the discount type, the amount, and how long a generated discount lasts before it expires. For referrals, what the referrer earns and what the friend gets are separate archetypes, so you can reward them differently.
Who can edit
The page needs the Discount Archetype Configuration feature. It is listed under Active Features or Disabled Features on the Features page, and we turn it on per site.
