Fathom Analytics: your site traffic, built in
How many people visited your site this week? Which pages do they read? Where did they come from? Your Eat Fresh site answers that from day one, with Fathom Analytics. There is nothing to set up, no code to paste and no account to create.
Opening your dashboard
- From your admin, go to Manage Site > Analytics.
- Click Open Analytics Dashboard.
Your Fathom dashboard opens, already signed in. No password needed. Bookmark it if you check it often.
What you see
- Visitors and page views for any date range, compared with the period before.
- Top pages: which pages people visit most. Your order page should be near the top.
- Referrers: where visitors came from, such as Google, Instagram, Facebook or your email newsletter.
- Devices, browsers and countries.
Your order page changes pages without a full reload, and Fathom counts each of those moves, so the numbers reflect what customers actually do.
Why Fathom
Fathom is privacy-first. It does not use cookies and does not track people across the web, so it needs no cookie banner and treats your customers' privacy with respect. It still tells you everything a food business needs to know about its traffic.
Getting more from it
- Check after every campaign. Posted a new menu on Instagram? Look at referrers the next day.
- Watch your order page. A week with lots of visitors but few orders is a sign to look at your menu, prices or checkout.
- Tag your links. Add UTM tags to links in emails and social posts, such as
?utm_source=newsletter, and Fathom shows each campaign on its own.
