Duplicate order checks: catch double orders and alert your staff
Nobody likes being charged twice for the same week of meals. Your site spots likely duplicate orders before they are charged, holds them for you to check, and emails your team whenever something needs a human touch.
Your ordering is flexible on purpose. A customer can hold more than one subscription (unless your site is set to one plan per customer, a setting we manage with you), and order extra meals à la carte on top of a plan, and all of it goes through. Duplicate checks only step in when an order looks like the same week ordered twice by mistake.
Enable duplicate checks with the Duplicate Order Checks toggle on the Features page.
How a duplicate is detected
The most common duplicate is a customer on a recurring plan who also places a regular order for the same week without pausing, skipping or canceling the plan order. The site compares menu, schedule, delivery date and plan context to spot it.
What happens
- The customer is warned before the order goes through. Early-notice plan emails carry the warning too.
- A likely duplicate is held for review instead of being charged.
- The admin dashboard shows a Potential Duplicate Pending Orders panel with each held order, so nothing waits for a phone call.
- You get an email when an order is held.
Alert emails you will receive
Your site emails staff when something needs a hand:
- A duplicate order held for review.
- A plan renewal failure, with the same plain-language decline reason the customer sees.
- A credits usage failure after the card was charged, so you can check the order and fix it.
- A missing package on a package-type plan, naming the package type with a link to the package catalog.
Who gets them
Alert recipients are set on the Company Info page under Manage Site. Each kind of alert can go to a different address.
