How to add testimonials
Nothing sells a meal like a happy customer saying so. A testimonials page puts their words in front of every visitor who is deciding whether to try you.
Turning on the page
Go to Content > Pages and switch on the Testimonials page. Content > Testimonials then appears in the sidebar. Add the page to your navigation in The page editor: your pages, links and navigation.
Adding a testimonial
- Go to Content > Testimonials and click New Testimonial.
- Paste the customer's words.
- Add, if you like, the person's Name, their Location, a Date, and an Image. All three are optional.
- Switch on Published and click Update.
To hide one later, open it and switch Published off.
What visitors see
The page opens with a carousel of testimonials that customers can click through, followed by More Stories with the rest. A testimonial without an image gets a neat placeholder.
Your home page can also show a single testimonial of its own; that one is site copy. See Other content: edit the words on your site.
Getting great testimonials
- Ask right after a good moment: a thank-you email, a note in the bag, a reply to a kind message.
- Ask for permission, and ask how they want to be named. First name and town is a good default.
- Short and specific beats long and general. "The chicken burrito bowl got me through finals week" beats "Great food!".
- Mix it up: a busy parent, a gym regular, someone with a food allergy.
- Only use a customer's photo with their permission.
