How to create a private pickup location

Deliver lunches to an office, a gym or a school? A private pickup location lets that group order online without the address showing up for everyone else. Employees see a friendly name and simple pickup instructions; the public never sees where it is.

Setting it up

  1. Go to Locations & Delivery > Locations and click New Location.
  2. Enter a name. Customers will see it, so make it clear: "Acme Co. break room" works nicely.
  3. Click Add & Edit.
  4. Tick Active, Show on order page and Private Pickup (hide address on public pages).
  5. Click Add Address, enter the real address, and click Set Address. Your delivery reports and routes use it; the order page and the public map never show it.
  6. In Pickup Window, add what customers need to know, for example "Noon to 5pm, behind the reception desk". This text does show on the order page.
  7. Click Update.

Checking it

Open your order page and scroll to the location section. Click Change Location if one is already selected, and your private location appears among the pickup options. Pick it and make sure you see only the name and the pickup window, no address.

Tip

Share the location name with the group so they know which one to choose, and consider a discount code just for them to get the ball rolling. See How to create discounts.
