How to view and edit an order
A customer wants to switch their pickup spot, move a delivery date, or just check what they ordered. Every order has one page that shows everything about it and lets you change what needs changing.
Every route to an order is in How to find an order. The order opens in view mode with the customer, the items, the schedule, the location, the payment and any notes. The summary lists the subtotal, tax, fees, discount and total, then each payment, including a gift card when one was used.
Quick changes
The most common fixes happen right on the view page, without opening the full form. Click the edit link next to one of these, pick the new value, and click Save:
- Associated Menu: the menu the order is grouped under in your reports.
- Location, including a switch between pickup and delivery.
- Schedule.
- Delivery Date.
The full edit form
Click Edit Order for everything else: the customer, the order date, the Completed Date, and Notes for the kitchen or the driver. Click Update to save.
Every change shows everywhere the order appears: reports, packing slips, labels and the customer's account.
Cancel & Replace
Cancel & Replace, at the bottom of the order, marks this order inactive and creates a new pending order with the same details, then opens it. On an order that is already inactive, the button is Replace. It needs the Manager role or higher. See Pending orders.
Canceling
Click Mark Inactive at the top of the order. It disappears from your reports, and Reactivate brings it back. See How to cancel a customer order.
