How to edit admin settings
Admin settings are the little dials that make your site yours: order minimums, label dates, the top banner message, tracking IDs and many more. Whenever an article says "set this in admin settings", this is the page it means.
Where it is
From the admin dashboard, open Manage Site > Settings.
Finding a setting
Settings are listed by name under Optional Settings. There is no search box, so scroll, or use your browser's find (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) with part of the name, such as "label" or "min".
Changing a setting
- Click Edit on the setting.
- Change the value.
- Make sure Active is ticked. A setting only takes effect while it is active.
- Click Update.
To switch a setting off without losing its value, untick Active and click Update. Tick it again whenever you want it back.
A setting that holds formatted text, such as your site banner message, has a Clear content button that empties it in one click.
Some settings need a site publish to take effect. When you save one of those, the page tells you. The publish runs on our side, usually within a few minutes; refresh afterwards to see the change on your site.
Who can edit
Changing settings needs the Manager role or higher, and a few are kept for the Owner.
Missing a setting?
We add settings to your site as needed. If an article mentions one you cannot find, message us from the help widget and name it. Some settings depend on your plan, or on a feature being switched on first. See How to turn on features for your site.
