Limited quantity: sell only what you made
Only made 30 of your famous lasagna this week? Limited quantity caps how many of a meal can be sold. The site counts down with every order and stops selling when they are gone, so you never promise a meal you cannot make.
Limited quantity is set on each meal, under Order Restrictions.
Setting it on a meal
- Click Edit on the meal and scroll to Order Restrictions.
- Tick Limited Quantity and enter how many you have in Quantity Remaining.
- Optional: set Maximum Allowed per Order, so one customer cannot take the whole batch.
- Click Update.
Set it before the menu goes live. From then on the count goes down as customers buy.
What customers see
A limited meal shows Only 12 left! (with the real count) on your menu and in the meal's details. Once 10 or fewer are left, the checkout page adds a gentle "Check out soon" nudge. Nothing like a hint of scarcity to help someone decide. When the last one sells, the meal shows as sold out.
Setting a few aside for staff or a partner
Need to place an order without touching the count? When you place an order on your site while logged in as an admin, the order page shows an Admin Overrides section. Tick Bypass limited quantity: sold-out items can be added, and stock is not reduced. The override is recorded on the order. Enable the section with the Order: Admin Overrides toggle on the Features page.
Holding the last one at checkout
By default, two customers can both put the last portion in their cart; whoever checks out second is told it just sold out. Prefer a short hold instead? Enable the Strict limited quantity enforcement toggle on the Features page. A limited item is then held for about 15 minutes at checkout, so nobody loses the last lasagna mid-payment.
