The prep and driver view: what your kitchen and drivers see
Your kitchen crew needs the production list, not your sales numbers. Your drivers need the day's stops, not your customer list. The prep and driver view gives each of them exactly what they need, on a clean page that works on a tablet in the kitchen or a phone in the van.
Two roles
- Prep: for kitchen staff. Kitchen views and reports only.
- Driver: for delivery drivers. Delivery views only.
Give someone a role under Customers > Lookup / Manage > Edit Roles. See How to manage admin users and roles and How to add a driver.
Where they start
They log in like any customer. Their account page then shows a My Links list:
- A Prep login sees Prep Dashboard, Prep Reports, Prep Reports by Menu and Delivery Confirmation.
- A Driver login sees Delivery Confirmation.
Tip: have them bookmark their first link on the kitchen tablet or their phone.
What a prep login can do
Under Prep Reports by Menu, they pick the menu and schedule, then open:
- Totals Report: how many of each meal, option and combination to make.
- Orders Report: every order with its packing slip, and each single order on its own page.
- Daily Prep Report: item counts per delivery day, on menus that run over more than one week.
- Grocery List Report: ingredient totals, when your site uses the grocery list.
- Labels Report: labels for every order, by menu or by meal.
Details on each report are in Your reports: a tour of the Reports page and How to print orders, packing slips and labels.
What a driver can do
Delivery Confirmation shows the day's stops by location and customer. The driver messages customers as they go and marks orders completed. See Delivery confirmation: tell customers their order is on the way.
What they never see
Neither role sees payments, sales, customer records, discounts, settings or your billing. Sales, tax and all-time reports stay with your Accounting, Manager and Owner roles.
