How to print orders, packing slips and labels

Prep day runs on paper: a slip in every bag, a label on every container, and a totals sheet on the kitchen wall. Here is where each one comes from.

A packing slip for one order

Open the order and click Packing Slip. It prints the customer's name, the pickup location or delivery address, and every item with its options, one slip ready for the bag. Custom meals are listed with their components, and component prices are left off so the customer sees the meal, not your costing.

Packing slips for a whole menu

On the Reports page, open Orders by Menu, choose the menu week, and open the Orders Report. Filter it to the location or schedule you are packing, then click Packing Slips. You get one slip per order, in the same order as the report, so sorting the report by location gives you slips in route order.

Labels for containers

Labels come with the Order Labels feature, listed under Active Features or Disabled Features on the Features page; we turn it on for your site. With it on, the Labels Report on the same Orders by Menu page prints a label for every meal on the menu, or narrow it to one customer or one order. From a single order, Print Labels does the same for that order only.

Each label carries the meal name, the customer, and the Consume By and Prep dates. Those dates come from your label settings, so a change there changes every label. See How to adjust label dates.

When your labels print the delivery date, each label on an order with meals for more than one delivery day shows its own meal's date.

The totals sheet

On the same page, the Totals Report counts every meal and option across the menu, and the Daily Prep Report breaks the counts down by day for a menu that delivers more than once a week. Print the one that matches how your kitchen cooks.
